This piece captures the quiet defiance of a crow who finds comfort where others see fear, perching on a scarecrow's shoulder to build her nest. The scarecrow, a symbol of human efforts to impose control over nature, becomes a place of refuge rather than dread. Her flock, flying away in instinctual retreat, contrasts with her bold presence, embodying resilience and freedom in solitude. Hidden within the cornstalks, mice scurry undetected, adding layers to this scene of nature’s adaptive balance, where resilience is rewarded in unexpected ways.
